Awareness for people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), a rare and debilitating disease, is a matter of life or death. In PH, arteries in the lungs can become damaged, narrow or stiff, putting pressure on the right side of the heart. Because common symptoms of PH (shortness of breath, fatigue and chest pain) are often misdiagnosed, a proper diagnosis and treatment is often delayed, costing patients valuable time. With early diagnosis, proper treatment can extend and improve PH patients’ quality of life.
November, in addition to being the month of giving thanks, is Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month.
This year, we’re inviting anyone who has experienced an act of kindness to take the #AHeartCures challenge in honor of Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month.
To accept this challenge, we invite YOU to publicly acknowledge someone with a 15-30 second video. After you thank that special someone, end your video by saying, “I’m taking #AHeartCures Challenge.” Share your video on social media using the #AHeartCures and #Heart2CurePH hashtags and invite your friends to join at www.aheartcures.org.
